End of July ‘09 blogging
Congrats to Mike Hudack and Blip.tv on their distribution deals with YouTube and others. Blip has always represented to me what distributed video is all about. Only 4% of their views are seen on blip’s web site.
Sarah Lacy shouldn’t respect Mark Pincus. His despicable Zynga service IS illegal gambling and feeds the habits of gambling addicts. There’s no way about it - Zynga needs to be shut down and Mark thrown in jail. IMHO. Just cause it makes money and everyone loves Pincus doesn’t mean he’s not a crook.
You should NOT be surprised by Apple’s evilness. It’s in their DNA.
Speaking of clueless - the Capt. Kirk rendition of Sarah Palin’s farewell address. Unbelievable!
Years later Intuit finally gets a clue. I wonder how long it’ll take for them to connect their SaaS customers - to each other. You’d think that a SOHO community would be kind of obvious. I pitched Scott Cook on this - like two years ago!
Friendster for sale - the end of a pathetic tale. I hope Jonathan Abrams is proud of himself.
Fred Wilson should check out Trieste, while he’s in the region. The Slovenians will know it as Tryst.
It seems like bottom fishing is in vogue for social networks. The funny thing is that in this post, he refers to “the best advice money can buy” - which be definition is the worst advice.
It looks like NPR is morphing it’s brand and becoming a platform. I can’t wait until every NPR radio show ever recorded is searchable and I can dive into the recording - and hear what was said.
Live Video APIs are starting to pop up - I wonder what Skype will do?
Its great to see Jeremy Zawodny discover my friend Elise Bauer’s Simply Recipe’s site. I agree with Jeremy the stuffed Zucchini looks wonderful and probably tastes even better!
The World’s most original burgers
You mean LinkedIn isn’t the ONLY business social network?
I love the notion of an ‘event planning totem pole’

we thought about going to Trieste but ended up bypassing it on the way to Portoroz. great part of the world. when were you there Marc?
btw - i strongly disagree with your characterization of Mark Pincus as a “crook”. i’ve known him well since 1994 and have invested in everything he has done, good and bad, and he has always lived up to his obligations. he’s a strong personality and many don’t like him, but i am one of his biggest fans.
If Picus is involved in illegal gambling, then I totally AGREE that he is a crook.
