building the open web one bit at a time

My daughters got to hear thunder today.  They don’t do thunder in Cali - so that was nice to hear.

Can’t wait for a serious Hurricane!

Meanwhile….

Pushbutton Web!  I love it. Now I have a reason to do draft 9 of my manifesto/book/textbook. Thanks Anil and to all you #pshb homies………..

And thanks to Steve Gillmor for sorting out the so-called conspiracies and BigCo versus small guy issues.

Meanwhile Rackspace has open sourced their Cloud code. I wonder if this will make up for their service outages?  And I wonder why Scoble hasn’t commented on those ‘embarrassments?’

Monetize the audience, not the content. I would slightly modify this - by saying “make sure to give the people compelling experiences and THEN ask them for a few shekels…..”

Not everyone is happy about Amazon buying Zappos. I guess the question is “will Amazon adopt any of Zappos techniques and religion?” Apparently Zappos management believes they will.

I’ve been trying ot unsubscribe all these ridiculous newsletters that spam me - but I guess those spammers aren’t supporting the new Google feature - yet. Hmm - I wonder what we should do?

Elsevier has developed some protoypes of what it called the ‘article of the future’.  This is EXACTLY what I’ve been talking about in NEO as a pathway to the future - a better way of disseminating knowledge and information utilizing multimedia! How timely!  Thank you to Read/Write web and my MAIN MAN Marshall Kirkpatrick!

Who cares what they’re called - blogs, vlogs, schmogs or gogs - finding old nuggets like Steve Gillmor’s original blog posts - is priceless!

Local bank gets robbed, and it’s blogged - two hours later………

.

Wanna know how whack the echo chamber can get?  Leo Laporte as President?

Italic Italy - thanks Boris!
