FactoryJoe gets it right - that the ultimate lock-in is a namespace. Its funny that he quotes Tim O’Reilly - isn’t he the guy who trademarked “web 2.0?”  Trademarking is also a form of lockin.

Anytime someone has my name in a blog post - it’s a good thing - as long as they spell my name correctly. The fact that it’s Dave Winer and it’s about my ‘MediaBar’ is even better.  But I’m not surprised that Dave doesn’t like the JetBlue terminal at JFK.  Airports aren’t really conducive to anything but “getting the hell out of there” so it’s not a fair camprison or analogy for the work we did on the MediaBar.  Buy hey!  At least he spelled my name correctly - right?
