Details have finally come out on Google’s servers and data centers. 1,160 servers per shipping container.
I happen to know that the servers use velcro to stay together, and that there’s a guy who does nothing but optimize hard drive drivers - so that every time a new hard drive comes out - he can optimize it for the servers.
