Halloween blogging ‘08
Happy Birthday to my twin sons - Aron and Jacob - on their 17th birthdays. Having Halloween twins has always been fun.
Can you smell that? It smells like the most significant event to happen to us since landing a man on the moon. Stay tuned - Tues will be here before you know it.
Live Mesh APIs are ready - and Microsoft announced that they’ll become a reliable party for OpenID. Jon Udell calls the recent PDC “Microsoft’s State-of-the-Union” address. His post is called:URI, XML, HTTP, REST, and the Azure Services Platform. When somebody as smart as Jon Udell gets this jazzed, believe me it’s because Microsoft relishes being an underdog. It gives them an incentive to go out and kick some serious ass. Steve Gillmor has a great interview of Ray.
On top of that - Yahoo also launched THEIR APIs and app platform. And they’re #2 in on-line video. My oh my - it looks like they’re executing! I guess being #4 ain’t so bad.
Chris Messina has a proposal for light weight access PINs for OpenID
And it looks like Google has turned Gmail accounts into OpenID accounts - as well. No wonder David Recordon had to dash back from Lala.
Good luck to Jim Bankoff on SBNation
And Flixter is doing all sorts of coolio stuff with Meebo’s community IM.
This looks like the product I picthed to AOL in 2001 and then again in 2005. So it finally came out. I wonder if it’s too late.
