Its great to read Josh Bernoff of Forrester expose the Emperor’s new clothing in terms of Ning and all these supposed Web 2.0 plays. The only money being generated is directly from enterprise customers. That’s why most of the white labeled social networking platforms are focusing on these folks. That’s why Ning is barely making any money off of Google Ad sense. That’s why Charlene Li interviews Leverage’s CEO and not me. Josh provides a pretty good overview and reality check for anyone THINKING they can succeed in today’s nuclear winter environment. Josh also provides some other useful stats on % of folks actually participating in forms, comments, etc.   In case it’s not obvious - this post is meant to suck up to Josh, Jeremiah and Charlene - cause they need to be interviewing me - as well. And we have great weather out here in Walnut Creek. And I can offer a dip in my pool!

I agree - Yahoo has been really BAD at executing or even updating acquisitions.

Hmm - this makes sense. Women document and comment their code better than men. I agree.

What does a Widget vendor do with $35M? Make more widgets?

Bonnaroo Mobile is Buzz’d = white labeled. Great deal, even if Fred Wilson doesn’t like white labeling.

Glad you enjoyed our post, although I think you’re too hard on ning — they’ll get there, I just haven’t seen the wonderful business model for it develop yet.

I’d be glad to interview you, but right now I’m just trying to get through all my personal appearances in June . . .
