I switch to a different kind of politics

Arianna Huffington’s eloquent praise of Hillary Clinton and the accomplishments she’s made for women really struck me where it counts.

Huffington talks about a moment on TV when Hilary goes teary over Chelsea’s involvement in her campaign. Huffington admits she got teary at that moment - too. Well guess what? I did too.

Huffington talks about her daughter who voted for Obama, but who’s enamored of Hillary - anyway. I have two young daughters and I can’t tell you how important this is to me.

Its just as imperative that we get rid of the glass ceiling in society as it is to get rid of racism, bigotry and hatred. Starvation, drought and global warming are also at this level of importance.

This campaign is too important to just see Hillary as a woman. She’s old school, she’s entrenched in the world of the past BUT she’s a woman.

Over and over again I’ve tried to convince myself that that shouldn’t matter. That we need to elect the best person regardless of sex, race or whatever. It seems as if the Democratic party is has been placed into a lose-lose situation.

Black American or Woman American.

I think we can actually turn this into a win-win if we can just keep our heads about us.

Military recruiters are committing suicide. I always knew that only until the body bags’ toll was felt - would we ever get out or Iraq. It’s 1973 again.

Maybe Obama should recruit Arianna as his Vice-president?
