Another day, even more blogging

No wonder I can’t visit Dave Morin this week Facebook’s new profile page designs are exactly how I would have done it. Its essentially the design we did at Tribe.net - before Mark Pincus started mucking with it. This new design should simplify things greatly and provide an effective way for users to scale their experience.
No where in the description of the next version of Last.fm - do we see mention of allowing users to share their data with other related sites - creating open standards around this kind of data - and in general = opening up. That’s disappointing. I assume they have heard of iLike - right? And MusicBrainz?
I think Robert should call it work FastERstillTV
Vertical (coders) - Vertical (travel) - Vertical (games) - and the SI’s (system integators) are going up the stack - buying pieces of the puzzle - HP bought EDS - Cisco is banking their future on Web 2.0
One of Microsoft’s secret weapons is Dare Obasanjo. Now that he’s back to blogging, Dare rips a new one in the very notion of early adopter trends - pointing out that blogger hype in fact means almost next to nothing. But Dare DOES identify trends and players who DO make it out of the early adopter phase. I guess the question would be - will Twitter and FriendFeed make it into the mainstream?
I just love the notion of Clearspring going ‘more’ social. Om is right, Clearspring is infrastructure provider + consultant + ad network. Now they need to show “where’s the money?”
I had a great demo from someone at Hitwise.
This was a chart from the demo: –>
This chart proves that News.com ain’t such a bad business.
The Architectural challenges of Life Streaming applications
The usage of dark fiber will become more and more important as time goes on Clearly Google investing in Clearwire has raised this issue again.
The Health Commons is launched
We’re going beyond Metcalfe’s Law
Kara Swisher is not Carrie Fisher - but Kara IS doing her show next week and she IS hooked up with Megan Smith. Meanwhile I had never seen any Loren Feldman videos before. Now I can say I have.

That chart also shows that our WordPress.com ain’t such a bad business
My guess the chart doesn’t account for wp.com traffic to mapped domains.
We include tracking code for quantcast.com, so they have some decent numbers http://www.quantcast.com/p-18-mFEk4J448M
