Thanks for the kind words about my Structure and Velocity post. I think that for technical conferences and forums, the organizer’s duty is to serve the participants and the community. Steve Souders, my co-chair, and I are very clear about who our community is and what we hope to provide. I think that starting from “service” makes it easy to cooperate with other people that are (hopefully) trying to do the same thing.
