Marc's Voice

building the open web one bit at a time

In Fred Wilson’s eye

age_2.jpgPaul Kedrovsky has pointed to a report from the Kauffman Foundation which says that 45% of U.S. entreprenuers are aged between 35-44 and another 18% between 45-55.

So that’s 63% between 35 and 55.

Makes sense to me.

Now I bet that MOST of these companies that these older folks start are old school and that Fred’s right - ONLY the most exciting, compelling, ‘clearer idea of what the web can be‘ kind of companies are started by young bloods - but I’m personally insulted by the ageism I see in this industry and this post by Paul - made me think of Fred Wilson and his ageism.

Then I think about all the msitakes young people make.

And then I think about the VCs and……………. oooooooops let me just stop there and save it for theFunded.
