What’s the holdup?

Kara wants her data - but will Sheryl listen?

I’ve been doing some podcasts with some friends and colleagues, and we’ve been talking about deals - and the process of opening up and building the mesh.

This is why Scoble should have hooked up with Michael Arrington - INSTEAD of Ed Sussman. Think of the tag team - Arrington finds out a scoop, Robert goes and vlogs it! And I bet Michael looks pretty good naked on the web as well!

Cheers to Chris Messina for keeping track of all these BigCos who claim they are supporting OpenID. Now lets see if they’re compatible with the spec - let alone doing anything at ALL!

Yahoo is the reason for Microsoft’s open source stance. Once they own Yahoo - they have the inventor of php and the world’s largest php platform. That’s one way to go open source! And the work they have to do to connect together will all be done via APIs - thus creating “the mesh”

EC2 is gaining more flexibility and resiliency. You can now have an elastic IP address which follows you - wherever your code is running. You can also separate out different VMs and processes to different ‘zones’ - to better guarantee uptime and stability.

Speaking of ubiquitous content - SI Vault

I love it when you can finally find out the truth about incompetent management. That’s why I started my first company - cause all my previous bosses were such idiots. So I started MacroMind and vowed never to have a boss - again.

I try to treat my wife with respect - at all times

Sounds like Brad Feld wants to aggregate his aggregators. I’ve been writing about this notion - for awhile.

Like I’d like to know more people - Oy Vey!

Thank god for really stupid arguments

Its great to see people building coolio things with wordpress.mu - which is pretty close to a meta-network platform. Once Matt and the WP community plug in the social networking features - they’ll be competiting with Ning, KickApps, Flux and PeopleAggregator.

Speculation of a Grand Theft social network. Definitely. Social networking and the ability to interconnect with other networks will be as ubiquitous as sensor based controllers or headsets and IM.

If I was a VC - I’d be investing in health.

One thing Sarah Perez has to realize about Adobe/Macromedia - it’s not in their DNA to do cool things on-line. Despite a few lucky hits (Breeze) most of their ideas and technology date back to the 1980s. So unless you hear about all sorts of new people coming to Adobe - I’m afraid the old-guard is about played out. Ever wondered why it takes so long for Acrobat to load?

But Sarah DOES get that easy to use sign-up forms are important

So much for advisory councils - huh? I’ve always thought advisory councils were a house of crock. Further proof.
