Broadband Mechanics begins a big offsite this week - so pardon my preoccupation
Communities as party - is a great way to describe it. I remember when Tribe.net first launched and I tried to explain to Mark Pincus why his lame ass parties sucked and why the MySpace parties rocked. Well needless to say guess who won?
Gonna be speaking at Mix08 - only problem - Guy “I’m full of shit” Kawasaki will also be on the panel. I wonder if that means we can only answer with three words. Dave Morin is also on the panel - that’s it’s only saving grace.
DataPortability meme and videos - are spreading
Its beatup Fred Wilson day - so I’ll throw my two cents in. I also have found Fred in conflict of interest and not necessarily straight forward. But I write that all off as simply “he’s a VC”. Making money is what he’s about. My complaint is that software companies are meant for other things than making money. And its not like Mike Arrington hasn’t invested in a few of these companies - either. Just ask yourself “why did Loic move to the Bay Area - and who are his investors” - that should answer it all.
Some background and the continuing evolution of Windows Live APIs - this time Photo APIs
Been playing with Marc Barrot’s Weboutliner - again
20+ video tutorial resources. My friends Lynda.com are part of this list.
Publish/Subscribe Radio over XMPP
Nice to see Flux supporting OpenSocial - now what about OpenID?
Congratulations to Kosovo for becoming a country
Sonico, OpenX, Batter Blaster, Pixish, Hypertable, Worldwide Telescope, DeviantArt,
Congrats to Suw Charman and that other guy - the husband
Shoutout to Melissa Gira Grant - sorry I missed you at the party - but we’ll definitely meet each other some day! I like what you’re writing!
