Final month of 2007 blogging

I went to Orlando last week to work with a new customer. Every day brings new and exciting usages of our technology and services. I can’t wait for everyone to see the fruit of our labor. The Sacramento Kings will launch MyKingsWorld - soon. And our project north of the border is also coming to head. I’ll also be speaking up in Vancouver in the middle of January - so I’m thinking Live Alaskan King Crab again. “Oh Canada!”

Oooops - it seems that the NYTimes and Coca-Cola ain’t too happy with Mr. Zuckerberg.

A good friend of mine pointed out this new product to me - 8Hands. Not sure how I missed it. It rocks. Part of a new generation of ‘Master Profile’ products and ‘People Feeds’. I sure hope Richard MacManus does one of his ‘category’ surveys around this burgeoning new category of products.

The Identity posse will be out in strength this week at the IIW.

Marshall Kikrkpatrick says it all for me. There’s been ZERO uptake of much of OpenID2. Maybe OpenSocial will change that.

Om’s feedback on Verizon opening up it’s network. I remember first hearing of the details of BREW and freaking out. This was another inevitable move. Closed is so - like yesterday. Scoble thinks Verizon kneecapped Google.

Speaking of widgets, I believe the investment in Clearspring was larger.

DRM-free is becoming understood and expected.

The Pud Meister bends over and takes it - to the tune of $23M.

Social Networking Conference in Miami - Jan. 31-Feb.1 - in Espanol?

The Open Awards

Some of the Irish Tech blogger commmunity will be in SF at the Buena Vista on Monday, Dec. 3rd. Apparently Milan Scoble is gonna make an appearance. But without Fergus Burns and Tom Raftrey- I’m not sure its really a proper representation of the Irish. But maybe Bono will show up to make up for Fergus and Tom.

How Your Creepy Ex-Co-Workers Will Kill Facebook - yah goota love Cory’s optimisim.

Martin Spernau has a contrarian approach - “isn’t there anybody out there who wants to pay for a multi-persona SNS?” :-) My bet is that we’ll have one within one year of today.
