MySpace guy refuses to committ to anything at LeWeb3 OpenSocial session

Right at the end of the conference - Google held a session on OpenSocial.

If ever there was a reason to call it OpenGadgets - this was the session. All they were interested in talking about was iGoogle, Gadgets and all these gadgets which were iGoogle compatible. I’m not sure if they even realized how much this damaged their rep and cred - but whatever.

Needless to say - there was a guy from MySpace France there and I asked him a simple question - which he refused to answer:

“Will MySpace be opening up their user’s profiles and allow them to export their socoial graph and profile info?”

He dodged the question, he acted like he didn’t understand it - and at the end of the day - he built complete confidence in me that MySpace has no intention of opening up MySpace - regardless of their public stated support for OpenSocial.

I sure would like to be proved wrong - but that’s what I heard yesterday.
