Saturday blogging - Nov. ‘07

The only thing to do after a night of blogging, is start off the next day with even more blogging. Simple goal - read all your feeds and clean out your InBox.

An Open Facebook API versus OpenSocial - is gonna get me in the right mood today. Today is the day I have to comment on all this. But for now - let me get back to clearing out my InBox. Then I can ping Mr. Cuban with our Sacramento Kings networks. Its called MyKingsWorld.

Larry Dignan brings up the obvious point about Yahoo’s Kickstart and Mash - why can’t I import all that internal Yahoo data that they have on me?  MyYahoo, Fantasy Sports leagues, Stock portfolio, movies and TV shows I’m finding out about, dating, Flickr - my God the list goes on and on!  MyBlogLog, delicious, what HASN’T Yahoo bought - for Christ sakes? So how DARE they ship YASNS which imports - what?  Nothing?  That’s outrageous!

Next up - Fred Wilson thinks he’s dense. Me too - I don’t believe all the Facebook Ads stuff is fully rolled out yet.

I have to wonder if Loic is feeling bad that he moved from France. I assume his residency here in SF is just a visit - and that he will go home - eventually. Maybe even soon. His perspective on his visit to the White House and his relationship with President Sarkozy makes it clear he sees himself as a Frenchman - and that will be true - forever. So he is not an immigrant. I wonder who sponsored Loic’s work Visa? Meanwhile tasting the cup of power seems to have intoxicated him. Me - if I was standing next to Bush, shaking his hand - well lets say “the cameras better be rolling”. And because of that - they would never LET me get that close to Bush!

Looks like Jeff Jarvis had fun in the UK. The best part about the British is that we speak the same language - almost. So communicating is easy(er).

Finally we forgive Paul Boutin for anything he blogs about me and also thank him - not only for spelling my name right - but also for posting photos of his wife. Keep them coming.

When Chris DeWolfe (of MySpace) talked at Web 2.0 about hyper-targeted advertising - he said that it doubled click-through rates. I believe him.

Lon Safko is doing a 2007 Social Media Survey

Congrats to Orb on their 2M user registered.  Orb is a free ‘Sling Media’ software only solution.

PacSunKickstart,

Its fun to see Owen Thomas of Valleywag start to figure out that people who change the world - don’t always benefit financially.   Owen should know that - working for Nick Denton.

Rethink the Merc

I wonder if there’s anybody at Adobe who realizes that every time they completely change everything in Photoshop - tons of people to go back and take lessons all over again. Of course this keeps an entire ecosystem in business - but it’s annoying as hell to me!

David Biedny (an old friend and gifted author and Photoshop technician) has a new blog - Analog Digits.

Don’t worry I was not too intoxicated, just enjoying… I have an investor visa that I sponsored myself, for 5 years. We miss you on Seesmic.
