building the open web one bit at a time

In NYC - blogging

I love NYC. All I have to do is plug into the sidewalk and live off the energy it emanates.

I got to see the new NY Times building yesterday, it was intense. Next up - St. Marks and Thompkins Sq park. Got to get some chicken cutlet, corn and kasha & varniskas.

Meanwhile…..

The Second Ave. Deli is gone.

Bloglines supports OpenID, will support oAuth and APML!   Coolio!

Congrats to Loic on his new company. Too bad I don’t live on Potrero Hill anymore.

Dave McClure continues to flog his Facebook angle.

Everybody seems to like FriendFeed.  What a great feature to have!  Subscribing to people - is the way of the future.

Hah!Yahoo is starting to SELL companies!

HealthVault, Magnify.net, Flexiscale, Qflix, Koinup, Cornerworld

  1. Welcome to NYC! I’m glad you’re enjoying your visit. I too was sad to see the 2nd Ave Deli go. It’s been a piece of my personal history since I was a little girl growing in the East Village.

If you still want kasha varniskas, there’s 2 great places I can reccommend, actually you’re making me hungry just thinking about them. The first place is Veselka - http://www.veselka.com/
It is my all time favorite place which I still visit a few times a month to have a cup of either their cold fruit or borscht soup in the summer or their hearty vegetarian vegetable soup in winter. Check out the place and menu via the link.

The other place is Katz Deli - http://www.katzdeli.com/, where Billy Crystal filmed the movie “Harry Met Sally”. Another long standing New York City gastronomic institution that has been in business for over 100 years.

Enjoy your visit and if you need to find anything while here drop me an email. I check emails via cell so I’ll be able to help you out.
