On my way home - then onto NYC, London, Milano, Amsterdam, back to London, back to NYC

I’m on the trailing edge of some breaking news - so I thought I’d put up another quick set of links and comments before I head over to Asakusa for some shopping and prayer.  Asakusa is the home of a wonder Buddha and authentic shops - which I’ve been going to for over 20 years.

There’s even a place over there for Sumo wrestlers to get custom clothing made. My kind of shop!

Meanwhile….

Marc Andressen has put up a post on different kinds of platformsFred Wilson asks some good questions about this post.  I’ll get to all this - when I get back on the ‘other side’ of this giant pond that I have to fly over today.

Dave Winer should have moved ALL his money OUT of dollars - years ago. He’d be a richer man today.

Fox apparently showed an integration play by using MySpace to announce the Emmy’s winner for InteractiveTV.  I wouldn’t call Current.tv the best people’s channel - but at least Al Gore got to stand up on stage and pretend like it doesn’t mater that Current.tv demands that they get all content on their channel exclusive for 3 months.  How come nobody brings that up?

Nick Douglas had somebody else create a profile of him on Y!Mash. This is what happened to me on Twitter.  Then I got my marccanter account - back. I just haven’t switched over - from marccanter4real - yet.  But I will - when I have ‘extra time’.  :-)

I love the idea of Facebook getting into storage.  Its one of my ‘interface domains’ - which I talk about in our company site.

I also love the idea of Yahoo buying Zimbra.  But I could have sworn that they bought something called ODDPost.  They could have done Zimbra with the ODDpost code.  But I guess that’s why entrepreneurs are not large companies.  The Zimbra play was/is brilliant!  I also like that folks think of Zimbra as a white label play and not an open source play (as it was originally thought of as.) So now lets see how fast it takes them to integrate Zimbra.

DigitalMe, Tripit, Yahoo Teachers, the Fundanistas, UPnP, Chandler (I can’t believe it took them this long to even have usable code - that’s something Scott Rosenberg conveniently left out of his book!)

GooCove? PK at his best!

What! Second Life a Ghost Town! No!  I can’t believe it!

Randy Falco got tired of commuting so he’s moving AOL up to NYC.  Never mind the 3,000 people he’s laying off - they’ll be selling the thing in 6 months.  Who’s gonna buy it?

Bay Bridge deck replacement time laspe video!

While everyone is at TechCrucnh40 and I’m in Tokyo, Joi Ito and David Weinberger are at the Social Computing Symposium.  I used to get invited to that, but……

Congrats to Mena and Ben Trott on expecting.  Their kid can hang out with Milan Scoble.  My daughters will baby sit.

And congrats to Mark Pincus on his engagement.

Hmm. Does Current still demand that wacky exclusivity? I thought they had let that go several months ago, and now only negotiated that if they were trying to buy something from you.
