It’s Labor Day weekend, goodbye to summer

The difference between a Social Network site, a Social Graph application and a Social OS - Dare continues his tear. His must be getting ready to get married or something!

Yahoo pays $4M to settle a lawsuit.  Wait a minute, isn’t that what Susan Mernit does?

Russell Beattie has started blogging again.  But when you go to his blog - all you see are Google ads and some other ad.  Scroll down.

I really like the notion of the MySpace tour.  Integrated branding, providing real value to kids - in meatspace.  Whenever you can connect meatspace to cyberspace - that’s a good thing.  I participated in an early experiment of that - with Lalapalooza - sponsored by Paul Allen’s Interval Research - back in the early 90’s.  We sent out our ‘Meet the MediaBand’ CD ROM on a tour in a tent, that went along with LalaPalooza.  Now MySpace is taking this concept to the next level - using their record label as the catalyst for the whole dam tour!  So when’s the Facebook tour?

Congrats to the Seedcamp finalists - in line for 50,000 euros a piece!

Everyone is interested in Yahoo’s new KickStart.  I can’t wait!

Michael Arrington will make an appearance at a Seedcamp party in London next week?  What’s the story of TechCrunch UK?

TechCrunch and Rafat Ali are talking about Jon Miller and Ross Levinsohn starting a huge fund. Unfortunately its not about investing in us - just perpetuating the bubble.  But if they had any brains - they’d buy a few of ‘us’ and turn all that money into disruptive power!

Some idiots are bitching about Benchmark Capital and a men’s only attitude. In fact - I have done work for Wee World which si run by TWO women.

It is amusing to watch our industry pine after, rack and wish they were on the Playa.  Bunch a wannabees!

Here’s an item of a German restaurant in Nurenberg dumping waiters in favor of delivering food on meal rails.  That just happens to be a design I did for a cyber theme resturan in 1995. I even built scale models.  Yet another good idea - 12 years ahead of itself.
Bill Lerach is retiring.  I was on a board that got sued by Bill Lerach. “Hey Adam!  Remember that one!”
