More blogging - the day before the DataSharingSummit

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - Apple is an evil company. They don’t care about YOU or software developers. They see their customers as junkies they can continue to sell heroin to. Just cause they make great products and the world’s best OS doesn’t change that fact - unfortunately. So this latest pricing change should not surprise anybody. I like this post’s analysis of the reasons why Apple fucked up.

Some people want us to go further with Bill of Rights to NON social web users, some have contributions of the grand schema of things, others have opinions over the exact language, scope and wording - while others think its a waste of time. It’s been translated into Polish already. Regardless - at least a conversation has started. We’ll have up an interactive version for folks to add their names in support of our Bill of Rights - next week. I’m excited that we were able to elucidate the underlying principles of arguments I’ve been making for years. Hopefully this will resonate and get talked about in blog posts, at conferences, seminars, inside strategy sessions and appear in research reports. That’s why we did it - to get the ideas out there and clarified.

More reports of Facebook doing ‘open’ on their own terms.  This is EXACTLY why we created our Bill of Rights!

John Battelle has just announced the program for Web 2.0.  Hmmm - workshops aren’t announced yet.  Hmmmm.

Jon Miller and Ross Levinsohn have hooked up with $1B in cash and they’re gonna go shopping.  I wonder if Jim Bankoff is hooked up with them?

I was at a VC’s office yesterday who funded Spock.  And I’ve known Auren Hoffman and Rapleaf - since its inception.  I’m interested - what are people’s feelings over Rapleaf, UpScoop, Spock, etc.  Invasion of privacy, sell data about me - slimeballs - ?? - or part of a new Web 2.0 movement to blah blah blah……. ?????
