One slight correction to Fred Wilson comparing Bug Labs to Ning
I’ve been reading with interest about this new company Bug Labs - coming out of stealth.
I’ve been working on our own business plan and have this vision of embedded systems providing social networking and blogging to a world immersed in Wimax, cheap handheld devices, mobile and auto based devices, and a living room of the future.
At the core of that is Moore’s Law and the ever decreasing costs of building semni-conductors and hardware devices.
So some of you smarter folks out there may appreciate why I emphasized PeopleAggregator’s availability via download (in yesterday’s post) and it’s ability to run on GoDaddy and other cheap hosting services.
So when Fred Wilson compares Bug Labs to Ning - he’s wrong. It’s more like PeopleAggregator.
We can embed our source in chips. Can Ning do that?
Unless of course the folks at Ning re-engineer and re-write Ning to be more compact and downloadable - which I guess they could do with their $44M. Not sure what else they need all that money for.
