Great day in NYC - links

This is what happens when Tim O’Reilly emails Dave Winer.
Tim O’Reilly left a long, thoughtful comment on my blog saying that I shouldn’t promulgate memes that secrecy is bad’. He was referring to my post on some private meetings about open standards. “Hmmmm I thought - now why would he stop from his busy schedule to populate my tiny little blog with his holey script?”
Jeremiah Owyang is having a beer with Mike Walsh of Leverage. “Hmmm - I thought, Jeremiah gets around”
Fred Wilson likes Ribs - “Hmm I wonder what sort of sauce he likes - Tangy, Sweet or Biting?” Fred also likes Brisket too - and I like Brisket to - especially on Passover.
Yoz is a transatlantic tosser who IMs his UK friends and tells them to go to bed.
This is me <—- when I was younger and skinnier. I think I was 14 in this shot. Maybe 15.
If you click on this link - you will not only find my last Twitter - but also a collage of Aryeh, Aron and Jacob @ Aryeh’s 8th grade graduation, Lisa (my wife), 2 shots each of Lucy and Mimi and also Bob Marley and James Joyce.
I can’t help but think that’s there’s some connection between Fred Wilson blogging about “how Facebook isn’t open - enough” and me blogging about Twitter.
You mean Spock isn’t all that?
Congrats to Michael Rubin and NetFlix for going social!
You mean iVillage ain’t all that and Beth Comnsock may have made a mistake paying $600M for it? Imagine that! I wonder what Mark Graham says.
Congrats to SixApart for shipping the new update of Moveable Type (their cash cow) - which one could argue - started a whole lot.
And finally I end this post with a plea to Megan McCarthy. “Even though it provides fun fodder - please don’t write about famous tech celebs sleeping with their partners - who they start companies with - and raise $44M at a pre-money valuation of $170M. Scandal I say - scandal. Surely there must be something else to write about?

Private meetings about open formats — gotta be the nastiest dirtiest tactic out there. Keep outing them brother Marc.
