Marc's Voice

building the open web one bit at a time

Greetings from Trieste, Italy - blog links #2

Now that I’m back from India - I’m heading to meetings in Zagreb, Milano and Londra (that’s London in Italian.)

But meanwhile………….

Welcome to Owen Thomas - you got it right dude - with your five rules.  Things will get even more interesting around here with you taking over from Nick.

It’s been 10 years since blogging began.   And Scoble corrects the history.

Dave Winer postulates that Plaxo’s new project could be the ‘open identity’ system we’ve all been waiting for. I doubt it personally - but we WILL be using Plaxo’s email import util for an upcoming project.

Seedcamp - is where Europe’s top young founders can come together in one place. Founded by Saul Klein and others.

Sam Sethi’s new hustle - Blognation. It’s International in scope.

Post to Pownce, Twitter, Jaiku, Tumblr at same time

Poor MySpace - it wants more attention now that Facebook is grabbing it all!

Equals, SIOC (Semantically Interlinked On-line Communities project), Headzup, Twittergram, AppFactory

SocialStream seems coolio.   Can’t say anything about Mosh - don’t know what it is.

NowPublic named one of 50 best sites in 2007. Congrats to Leonard Brody et al

Scoble lauds Brad Horowitz - deservedly so.

Dan Farber and Steve Gillmor on Internet Plate Tectonics

The first place I go when I get home and the reason I’m coming home - is Gnomedex.

Unable to get their own unique music sharing site transfered from Korea to the US, Cyworld has gone and done some simple deal with iTunes. Too bad. What they offer is truly unique. I guess this is another example of the US music business just not grokking it.

Jeremiah Owang’s predictions about Facebook. And his list of Behavioral and Social recommendation services.

dbsmall reports that some folks consider funghi (mushrooms) non-vegetarian - cause they ‘move’. Interesting.

I’ve been using Cellulose rolling papers almost exclusively for 6 months now.  Turns out its an alternative energy source as well!  Rolling papers AND energy source!  Invest now!

Congrats to Jim Louderback on he new gig!

I didn’t make it onto Scoble’s list of important people.  :-(

  1. What the hell are you talking about? It’s pretty obvious you haven’t yet visited my Facebook Profile. Check out my top 32 friends there. Out of 3,400 who is picked out? Hmmm? I’ll wait for you to look. Heheh.
