Diga - beach in the middle of the Harbor
Today we attended the inaugural day of a new resort/beach in the middle of the Trieste Harbor. The place is called Diga - and it’s been closed since 1940 when Mussolini closed it (well maybe not Musso himself, but his government did.) So after 67 years closed, its reopened - and it happens to be exactly across the street from where we’re living.

The water in the Trieste harbor is so clean - you can see right through to the rocks below. The weather was perfect and the water temperature has been unusually high - so it was PERFECT as well.
The only way to make it out to Diga is by boat and it features a restaurant, cabanas, all the standard beach amenities and will soon have baby sitting.

They have this coolio web site and the ‘photos’ of the place are really 3D images of the designers vision. And the images are all stored on Flickr.

I can see Diga from my window. The place will stay open til 3 AM.
