10 days into March ‘07 and counting
Thanks to Sarah Lefton for the plug (and nice photo) and she actually spelled my name right and remembers how her career got started. Our company and product got quite a few careers started - but funny how fast people forget that stuff. You’re only as good as your last IPO round here nowadays.
This photo features me in one of my new raw silk shirts I got on my last trip to India. I’ve been having these shirts made at the Cottage Industries emporium in JanPath market - across the street from the famous Imperial Hotel. Turns out they have a web site.
I now have like 25 of these shirts.
Can you blame me? They’re beautiful!
Tekriti has launched a social network for Cricket Fans called “LetsCricket”. It based upon our platform - PeopleAggregator. Watch for a whole flury of announcements and other live networks Q2 ‘07.
Mark Cuban explains why he’s suing Google.
Sony has announced a 3D social environment called Home. I can’t tell yah how long I’ve been waiting for ’something’ out of Sony that has anything to do with anything relevant. Unfortunately this one reeks of ‘Second Life’ envy all over it. But thank god its tied to the PS3.
NetVibes’ Universal Widget API launched today. I sure hope Hooman and the folks at KickApps are paying attention. We are. And from the mouth of Tariq himself.
ILetYou, coolio BT phone mashups, BLNK, feedback on the new MyYahoo
Ross Mayfield complains that this graph is completely inaccurate. He should know - he’s in it. At one point I really wanted to be incolved with those folks. But like every dream, reality set in.
Congrats to Dan Gould for having his product finally see the light of day. Now about those Open MySpace APIs?
Hmmm - maybe Freebase is the free, open XML server that I always wanted. But lordy lordy help me if its rdf.
Now that Renkoo can list places - we can finally find out where to go in Silly Valley. I was actually under the impression that there WEREN’T any good places to go in the Valley. At all. But Adam Rifkin apprently keeps fed.
Social Networking has been added to Yahoo’s Answers. I wonder if this is the first sign of Randy Farmer’s group - long awaited social networking infrastructure?
Poor Hooman has been working so hard, raising money, being an entreprenuer. What did you think - dude? Weekends off?

Marc, it probably is RDF based. O’Reily’s announcement of it seems to be more about the whizz than the technology, but Nova Spivack seems to think it’s a big deal for SemWeb people, so it’s quite likely that it’s RDF based. Not that I find that scary - RDF is an extremely powerful data standard that confuses people because it’s often stored and transmitted as XML.
