Dave Winer is not gay
I know that Nick Denton has opened up Valleywag to be more open, in a gay kind of way - but that doesn’t mean they can get away with insinuating that Dave Winer is gay.
In fact (I won’t name names) but Dave has had some of the most beautiful, intelligent and hot women in the Valley as HIS girlfriends.
Now I appreciate Nick Denton and the other Nick - displaying their own sexual preferences - they can do that, they own the blog. And all the hottie contests are fun - but it’s probably better that we leave sexuality out of our industry.
Cause then maybe some of the weirdos start cropping up - promoting alternative lifestyles.
You know like Capt. Crunch, Bob, Jamie Fenton or even better R.U. Sirius.

My sexual preferences aren’t at issue. I never said publicly if I was gay or straight, and it’s off-limits as far as I’m concerned. Sexuality isn’t part of my online life.
What I will say is that I am incredibly disappointed in Paul Boutin. I sent him an email yesterday morning, requesting a retraction and apology. I don’t expect anything from Denton or Douglas, Denton has basically disclaimed any pretense at being a journalist, and I have no idea what Douglas thinks he is doing, other than earning a paycheck making stuff up about people. But Boutin had integrity before this. I’m still hoping he will publicly disassociate with this kind of trash.
