Turns out Brad passed me the bottle - so here are my 5 things you don’t know about me

I usually don’t do these things, but afterall Brad Horowitz is the most powerful guy at Yahoo and a KIngmaker - so whenever Bradley snaps, I jump.

So one thing you DO know about me is that I’m sucking up to Bradley to maybe get him to call me back - or reply to my email.  Eventually.

5 things you probably don’t know about me.

1. My grandfather was a famous American Communist. He helped lead the fight to save Sacco & Vanzetti’s lives (1921-27).  My father was raised with Joey Sacco.  After the execution (in 1927) my gramdfather carried the sign that said “The Governor is a murderer” and was arrested and served a year in prison - as a polticial prisoner.  He was released in 1929 and moved the family to Russia, where he worked on teh official publication and translation of Marx & Engels - from Gemran into Russian.  He returned to the US in 1938.

2. Many of you know I’m an opera singer, but you probably don’t know that I also sing Gilbert & Sullivan. In fact my middle son Aron - also has done Gilbert & Sullivan - which makes him a 4th generation G&S singer (my grandfather and both parents also sang G&S.)

3. Many people know I love Reggae but almost knowbody knows I play studio synthesizer and almost moved to Jamaica in 1980 - to record and work on the Reggae circuit in Kingstown.  I used to ‘rub-a-dub’ my synth down on top of Reggae Rockers tracks, for folks like Mx Edwards and local Chicago Ska and Rockers bands.  I participated in a Reggae Dance Hall production scene in Chicago in 1977-79.

4.  Joi Ito used to be a DJ at a club in Chicago called the Metro.  This is right when House Music was first taking off.  I did not know Joi at the time - but I was a VIP who used to get in ‘behind the velvet rope’ at the Metro all the time.  One reason why is that in the early 70’s I took a video editing class at the Metro - and still knew the owners in the mid-80’s.  We all went to the Art Institute (in the late 70’s) and I was on the ‘computer graphics/electronic music scene in Chi-town at the time.  I had worked at Bally-Midway on Professor Pac-Man.

5.  I have five kids, 3 boys from my first marriage and 2 girls from my second.  I call my second family - Family 2.0.
