SubCulture Dining

You’ve heard rumors of it before.

Well now here are some links and a video.

No - you’re not invited.  If you have to ask, you can’t come.

This is authentic Haute Cuisine in a home, completely illegal, completely cool and fresh.  10-12 people at a time, all underground.

Meals are booked via the web, and the location is a secret.

One thing that is clear, the underground economy is huge.

And it’s not just sex and drugs and human trafficking.

Its piracy in all sorts of forms.

Its skirting the laws, for various reasons - like being able to serve Fois Grois in Chicago.

Or creating the Grey Album.

Or all sorts of p0rn.

Virus and spam are the current illegal choice du jour.  Phishing as well.  But they’ll be others.

Open APIs and mashups give us the ability to do things ‘illegally’ - just a slong as you have access to the APIs.

Huge open source infrastructure will enable all sorts of ‘pirates’ the ability to create things impossible up until now.

Cause as long as straight people control things, they’ll never get to do anything fun.

But yes dear, sex and food are key.  And so is marijuana.

So enjoy - maybe some ‘dissident chef’ will come to your city someday - as well.

But as usual - its San Francisco that leads the way.

From the video I saw, it looks like a fun, once in a lifetime experience.

But no - I can’t get you in.

And no - Sergey and Larry aren’t invited.
