Duh Behrs

Sunday, January 21st, 2007

Litle known fact:
I was born at Michael Reece Hospital on the south side of Chicago, one stop down from Soldier Field.
When the doctor took me out that chilly January morning, he said “I want tickets to the Chicago Bears game - when this guy is playing.”
Bears are going to the Super Bowl - first black [...]

Here’s what a panel would be about….

Sunday, January 21st, 2007

So instead of just griping about it, let’s be clear what won’t happen at SXSW this year:
This is a letter I wrote to someone at Microsoft about a panel I’d like to give at Mix 07.  He asked me if the panel would be about digital identity - or not.

Ideally we’d do a panel on [...]

Hey Hugh - thanks for the comment

Sunday, January 21st, 2007

So I was reading the SF Chronicle on the way into the city on BART the other day.
There was this article on SXSW and Hugh Forrest.
In the article, which I can only gauge to be accurate since Hugh is quoted and highlighted, it said:
“Forest said he had 350 suggestions, and of the 150 panels at [...]

What better way to change the world - then to blog!

Sunday, January 21st, 2007

It’s football day here in Amerika - American Football - so what better day then to sit down and blog.
Tee Hee Hee - lots of pushback, jealousy and negative surrounding Widgets.  Why? ‘Cause they’re the bizzword du jour.  Never fails. Once some panacea, solve all our problems solution appears, the negative energy surges to tear [...]

Dust settling, back to work now

Sunday, January 21st, 2007

Tina Sharkey is making babies - or at least is in charge of everyone making babies.  Rafat [...]

Excellent video interview of me

Sunday, January 21st, 2007

While Loic was being interviewed downstairs by TV stations, I was up on the roof at LeWeb3 - FREEZING in my brand new Indian silk shirt.
This is one of many interviews I gave at LeWeb3 and it certainly hit the nail on the head with what I’m about, what my ideals and philosphies are and [...]

The evolving DLA landscape

Saturday, January 20th, 2007

When I first coined the phrase ‘digital lifestyle aggregator’ - I was forced to find a better term than “Server-in-the-Closet” - which is what I HAD been using to describe this new era of computing.  It combines on-line and off-line usage, adapts to your needs, both professionally and personally and would bridge and connect together [...]

Wild Turkeys are running around my back yard

Saturday, January 20th, 2007

I tried to get a photo - but they run too fast.  But I was awoken to the distinctive sound of ‘gobble gobble’.  Ah - life in the suburbs.
Sorry I haven’t been blogging, but its a new year and we’re about ot ship a major upgrade. Widget editor, Network Operator controls, CSS skinning, scaling, Enterprise [...]

Open letter to Hugh Forrest

Friday, January 19th, 2007

What am I?  Chopped Liver?
Imagine how I felt when a) you came to SF to throw a party and didn’t invite me - and you know why? Cause b) you dissed me and didn’t invite me to speak at SXSW this year.
Yah - I know all about the voting and the panel pickers - but that [...]
