Intel inside PodTech and the genius of John Furrier

John Furrier shows how to suck up to sponsor’s by interviewing some dude from Intel.  He’s officially talking about new and old media - but for Christ sakes it’s 2007 already, would you stop dredging up those old as memes?

Lordy lord - how many times have we seen Intel try and ride the 3D, digital video, broadband, blah blah train before.

Does anything anybody from Intel says - matter?  How come the CEO lives and works down in Arizona?  I mean I’ve heard of absentee leadership before - but that’s pretty extreme.

PodTech has a whole lotta sponsors and interviews with all of them, I bet.  That’s one of teh things abut Podtech. They do ‘corporate podcasting’.

Furrier’s ingenius model at PodTech is to get sponsors to pay to get interviewed - while at the same time he can then afford to interview all their competition as well.  That way he keeps his integrity AND gets paid.

Corporate podcasting, distinct content channels, celebrity bloggers, regional news and even an up and comer hottie and married couples.  Podtech has it all.  The real trick will be when the VC’s cash runs out.

My bet is that they’ve got at least a B and C round left in them - before they need to be profitable.  By then hopefully they’ll have enough consistent good content, with a ton of archived stuff - to position themselves as a new brand.

In the mean time - hustling Silicon Valley companies for sponsorships dollars has always been a worthy means of generating revenue dollars around here.  God Bless them for it.

Intel has a bunch of big fabs down in Arizona. Might be why he lives down there.

As to should we listen to Intel? This week they showed me some cool stuff. Demonstrated to me that Moore’s law is safe for six more years. And that’s all we really care about, no?

Marc: we do corporate podcasting and you’ll be seeing some new things from us on the video front. These ‘old meme’ as you say are prime time now. All the predictions which I know you’ve been saying as well is actually happening. So it’s not so much trying to be predictive but instead it’s about whats happening now!

You’ve called it. Now we need scalable content :-)
