Official held in Saddam hanging video
This image, copyright owner unknown, obtained by the Associated Press from an Arab language web site, and seemingly shot on a camera phone appears to show former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein just prior to his hanging in Baghdad early Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006. Iraq’s prime minister ordered an investigation Tuesday Jan. 2, 2007 into Saddam Hussein’s execution to try to uncover who taunted the former dictator in the last minutes of his life, and who leaked inflammatory footage taken by camera phone of the hanging. The unofficial video, on which at least one person is heard shouting “To hell!” at the deposed president and Saddam is heard exchanging insults with his executioners, dealt a blow to Iraq’s efforts to prove it was a neutral enforcer of the law. I find this fascinating.
The YouTube generation comes of age and starts sneaking out execution footage.
And the government (both ours and theres) see this as damaging their credibility.
But I bet it increases the spread of Vlogging x10. And helps out sites like NowPublic.com.
