If you had been given a speaker's slot, I bet we wouldn't have heard jackcrap about how elitist and cliquey it was, since you would have been happy with being part of the elite clique. How could you accept a speaker's slot now that you have made those public criticisms, without looking like a hypocrite? You can't have your cake and eat it too. It's a big world out there, and there are 365 days each year, SXSW is in a tiny corner of the world, and gets coverage for two or three days mostly people saying they saw someone whose blog they read and they're nicer in person than they seem on their blog, or not as nice, or exactly as nice. Nice nice nice. Meanwhile if a new idea that made sense to users ever shows up there, you'll hear about it on the web but don't hold your breath. Love ya Marc. Say hi to Lisa and the kiddies for me.
