Best practices for syndicating video work to a destination site while respecting content creators - by Mike Hudack (of blip.tv)  Mike has led the way in quite a few areas - like sending videos to the Internet Archive or supporting almost ALL the new formats, routing interfaces and protocols.  DISCLOSURE:  We’re going to be reselling blip.tv with our product.

Creating new standards is a tricky business.  So Chris Heuer and others are trying to do that with a structure called hRelease.  This is actually a great case where quickly throwing a microformat together - so there’s something to play with - is completely appropriate.  Only nerds would use this sort of thing and its not a big deal to only offer page tags of the structure.  But once any format grows up and is frozen - you’ll need to have it personifed as a feed and file - as well. Brian Oberkirch has an overview of hRelease.  via Thomas Van derWal
