Just back from X-Mas and Hanukah shopping

What the hell - might as well blog some more.

I bought some killer Tibetan Buddhist Mandalas and a Wheel of Life in Delhi, so they join our X-Mas tree and Menorahs - to make sure our girls are multi-cultural.  And I just got finished stringing lights on our Orange and Lemon trees, in the rain.  A truley Cali X-Mas.

Now I’m back downstairs, debugging V 1.2, thinking about 2007 and getting proactive.  Knocking on doors, trying to keep up with our competition to make sure that open social networking gets into the right hands.  We’re also planning an Enterprise Edition - as ALL of our large clients are telling us we HAVE to raise our prices.

:-)

I literally have not made one proactive sales call - yet - for PeopleAggregator. The phone has been ringing off the hook and real-live leads appear at the rate of 2-3 week.  So its ramp up time.

In the mean time:

“So JSON isn’t evil. It’s just the internal object serialization format for JavaScript.”  Uh huh.  We store JSON in our database for every external account we support, enabling us to adapt to whatever that account requires, what it’s schema is and any special scraping routines we might need to access the end-user’s data.

Seems that Microsoft has patented RSS (or something looking like it.)  David Berlind has something on it - as well.

OpenLaszlo 4.0 - congrats to everyone

The King original Asshole Stewart Alsop showed up - leaving some comments on my SVAS post.  Turns out he did raise some money and has anew fund with Gilman Louie called Alsop Louie.

    Marc,

As I suspected would happen, Dave Winer’s miscategorization of the Microsoft patent application as granted is beginning to make the rounds: “Today I received a link to a patent granted to Microsoft, where they claim to have invented all this stuff.”

Probably a good idea to check the link.
