The Funkiest Man around has died
We used to say “The Funkiest Man alive” - but he’s not alive anymore.
God Bless James Brown.
Needless to say this guy changed my life. As a young man on teh South side of Chicago I knew of the blues, but I also knew of Motown and this other ‘thing’ - called Funk.
Funk to me - was Parliment Fundadelic, Bros Johnson, Bootsey, Rick James.
But most fo all - it was James Brown.
