Sitting down on the non-Wild side

It was bizarre to watch Lou Reed (Jon Miller’s senior Kung Fu brother) try and coax the ignorant Web 2.0 audience into paying attention to him.

Here he was - rocking the house - and the conversation was almost as loud as the rock and roll.  It was totally insulting.

I’ve seen this behaviour before and all I can say is:

- these dot commers are Republicans

- too busy trying to make money or raise money

- they’re all so boring - and they don’t even know it

So here was Lou Reed of all people - who had to tell them: “You got :20 minutes - keep talking…….”

As Dan Fost points out - I had to say somethingHere’s the video.

Man, you know that scene has gone to crap when the peeps all talk over a Lou Reed show.

Ok first NOT COOL. But not suprised in this bubble like time, people are no longer “present”. Everyone’s looking for the next deal, or a more interesting/connected person to talk to. That behavior is rude to any performer. Though, I do not have too much sympathy for Mr. Reed. In 1987 he came to Queen’s Universisty to play. Friends and I bought expensive (we were students) tickets to see and listen to him play. He came to the stage almost 2 hours late, was pissed/stoned - totally incoherent, played 6 songs then left. No Encore.
