The catch up begins - Sept ‘06 postings….
Now that I’ve reached 5,000 unread posts - I better start posng something. Scoble suffers from similar problems.
Good friends Robert and Val’s show - will get reviewed later - in proper fashion.
PayPerPost - gee, now who invented that “Pay Bloggers to Blog” meme?
WidgetCon? Hmmm maybe I’ll bring this up with Om at dinner on Sunday nght (after the pakora and before the tandoori lamb.) Bummed I missed Om’s party.
Needless to say - a whole bunch of new social networks have appeared: Radar, Wallop, SodaHead, Wallop, Sermo, Wallop, HeyLetsGo, and Xing (formerly OpenBC) comes out in style.
And I’m starting to get clued into piczo (which everyone was talking about in London.) And I met the guys from Hive in Amsterdam.
Everybody seems to think that social networking is the business to be in. Its potential in mobile. And they want to keep in touch with what’s going on. That’s why we have a white label, OEM solution for YOU! Call me - for information on this exciting opportunity to join the ‘Live Web’ revolution. Sponsored link - from me - to you.
Other interesting new web services include: Seventymm (Indian NetFlix), maybe Ashish and Gaurav can have time to watch a movie or two now! Wippit seems right on, exactly what I was proposing to one of our clients - two years ago. And Scrapblog seems like a coolio media layout tool. Stashspace also seems like a winner.
Mashable has hit 1001 mashups.
I still hate the term podcasting. Why are we giving free advertising to Apple?
Override seems a lot like BT Contact - which was shown two weeks ago in London at the mashup* I participated in. Both represent (to me IMHO) a next generation of DLA (digital lifestyle aggregator) designed for the PIM/AOL set. How strange that as we see all these local versions of the old dial-up service get sold off, that the next generation mid-level user AOL gets born.
SavvyHer - picked up off of PeopleAggregator from Kare Anderson.
$500M for SixApart? How ’bout a billion? Speculation as to Fox’s next move.
Videoegg has an ad network. And $12M more. I still like blip.tv.
Yelp got a bunch of money - congrats! Brightcove gets $5M more. Podshow gets $15M more to burn. Fotolog gets $4.1M. B5Media gets $5M (Rick Segal’s $$$)
Goodbye Audioblogger, hello Twitter - though I don’t see Twitter being anything than a fun toy for Noah to play with.
dapper’s got something coolio with Matisyahu.
Revver API. Hung out with Ben Cerveny in Amsterdam.
UpComing parties: Mind Camp - today, Rafat scene in Brick Lane = Oct. 17th, TechCrunch8 in NYC - TBA
Here’s something for Paul Martino and CLAW to rip their teeth into.
Scoble’s too dam busy to talk to me. Valerie too.
