In Search of the Valley
I was part of a documentary shot on the history of Silicon Valley. They needed a poster child who would complain about Steve Jobs and VCs on camera - as most people won’t.
They didn’t put anything into the edits about me, who I am, what I did or do - but they edited in all sorts of footage - like me ridiculing Jobs, complaining about this - or kvetching about that.
I guess that sort of stuff makes for better press than facts, commerce or me making any money. But they did spell my name correctly and for that I thank them. But they sure showed lots of Andy Herzfeld, John Warnock and the Woz.
There are a bunch fo clips up at YouTube.

I think they think that you’re supposed to go buy the DVD - which seems ludicrous - but whatever - good luck. I told them to put the whole dam thing up - we’ll see what happens.
If I’m lucky only a few of you will see the closing credits impromptu guitar jam I did. I swear I made up those lyrics completely in real-time. I swear!
I did NOT write those lyrics out and pretend like they’re anything more than just stream of conciousness!
Stephen O’Hear did a great job of giving an outsider’s perspective to something very mysterious and alusive. I forget sometimes that I used to live in Chicago and only came here in 1988.
But we were the first software company in SOMA - and helped create one of the greatest lock-in strategies - ever.

Lots of Folk have already bought the DVD, and we’re getting some great feedback.
Thanks for the mention Marc, and for giving us the interview. The end credits rock!

I am putting some DVD copies up for rent on my store at iLetYou (http://www.iletyou.com) so more people can try out and experience the movie. iLetYou in Private Beta as of today, but the copies will be available to rent shortly.
Definitely recommended, cohesive viewing for anyone who wants to be inspired by the spirit (and locale) of Silicon Valley.
