About Smart Blogs

Widgetbox widgets have some special capabilities that make your blog smarter and more useful.

Control your widgets from your blog posts

Many widgets on Widgetbox can be controlled by writing blog posts. We call this a Tag Aware widget. Just put a tag in your blog post, and the widget will use that information.

What can I do with Tag Aware widgets?

Besides just being plain easier to control a widget, you can use this to control multiple widgets. Here’s some of the types of things you can do:

Note that these exact widgets might not exist yet. But they will!

How Tag Aware widgets work

1 - On your blog service (Blogger, WordPress, etc), start writing a blog post

2 - Switch to HTML mode

3 - Type in widget’s tag

4 - Publish

A tag aware widget is one whose content can be controlled via a tag in a blog post.  You can read more about what you can do with tag aware widgets at: http://beta.widgetbox.com/docs/smartblogs/

This feature is in Alpha.  The tag format may change in the future.  Please try out this feature and give feedback, but don’t leave it on your blog.
