Vox#10 - Hustling = what makes SixApart successful

Now for the grand finale.

I’ve known many of the board members and players at SixApart for years.  Besides my minimal exposure to Ben and Mena, I can safely say that much of 6A’s board is made up of really smart people, how know what they’re doing.

They know how to hustle.  Andrew Anker (head of bizdev) is all about making money.

Barak - the CEO - is an old school guy with sechel (common sense in Yiddish) who leaves the public eye to Mena and who runs a tight ship - which has been profitable for a while now.

Michael Sippey gets bragging rights over Vox - it rocks - and Anil is by far the best dev and public face guy around.  They’ve got professional PR handling, and have been through the wars with their hosting services.

They’ve also employed acqusitions intelligently and built up an impressive internatonal presence in Europe and Japan.  All in all I’d say that SixApart is a pretty tight ship and run very well.

But its that sense of hustling that keeps them lean and mean and entepreneurial.  They’re not gonna rest on theuir laurels and live off of last year’s goods.

Vox represents a whole new ballgame for them and they’re forging the way for all of us to enter the maingtream in a big way.  With Mena’s Mom at the head of the parade.
