Links for a Saturday afternoon
Larry Tesler blogs that Joy Mountford (old friend) has put on a ‘University Design Expo 2006′ thingie for Yahoo. Lots of whacky shit that has nothing to do with software development - but looks good on your resume - if you wanna be lke Don Normon or Peter Merholz. Still not sure why this is important to getting better web pages built or connecting Yahoo to teh car, mobile or living room - but hey! It’s a job - huh?
Dave McClure helps clarify Dan Farber and the notion of Publishing 2.0.
Arnaud Leene disagrees with me - I disagree back. My gut tells me that Steve Gillmor is right. Office is so dead. So is any software that is susceptible to virus’, has to be paid for - up front - and not desigend to work on the web - is dead. There are - however - a new generation of hybrids - of course.
Snowcrash in Second Life. This is why I’m wasting hours - cause I think its time to go 3d. I’m marccanter projects. Can somebody tell me why you have to choose one of those goofy last names?
Hah! Martin is learning all about XSLT. Now I hate to say I told yah so, but you had to learn yourself - right?
I think this means Gaurav had a birthday. Happy birthday dude.
Mike Yamamoto of CNet speculates that Cyworld could trump MySpace. Not as long as they charge for acorns - Mike. But maybe their streaming audio service will gain traction. See yah at the launch party next week.
