LInking instead of being at Om’s party

Om Malik never invites me to his parties.  Something has to be done about this.  More later.

Michelle Quinn spells my name right - when it comes to talking about our favorite Valleywag.

Turns out Crowdstorm ain’t ‘just’ a social network.  Congrats to Alex and his team.  Everybody has to have ‘an angle’.

Its official - Bebo is more popular than MySpace in the UK.

Meanwhile our man outside of Nuremberg - Martin Spernau - is kicking ass building us a malleable profile storage system which will handle ANY kind of schema and spit it back.  Doesn;’t matter whether it’s FOAF or XFN/hCard or something private - we’ll suck it in and spit it out - intact - under end-user control.  I love teh idea of blogging our development milestones and goals.  No one can complain that we didn’t tell them what we were up to.

Symantec released the results of their security testing of Vista - but it took them so long (based upon an April release) that Microsoft has already gone and fixed those holes.  Or so they say so….. Security is a MAJOR feature and benefit of Vista.

I agree with Om - Viacom’s pathetic leftovers strategy is just - pathetic.

Jeremy Zawodny reacts to Matt MacAllister’s feedback on working at Yahoo for a year.

Ev is wondering why AIMPages page counts are down.  Well lets put it this way - I didn’t even know that AIMpages was live. I assumed it was still in testing and I’m a paid consultant for them.  Once they get performance up and stablize the code - just watch out for little old AIMpages.  One thing you can bet from - when it comes to AOL. They know how to spend money on marketing efforts.

Gaurav has his own unique viewpoint of Niall leaving Microsoft.  No smart people work for large companies…..

Cheech on legalized marijuana and his current feelings.

Denise Caruso is one of the smartest people I’ve known - yet she’s been “off the scene” for a while - doing her HybridVigor InstituteNow she’s starting blogging.

Digital Music download infrastructure player LoudEye bought.  Napster’s stock goes up. What a world.

[...] Mighty, which is pretty cool space out in the Portero Hill neighborhood of San Francisco was packed wall to wall with well wishers, friends and just folks who wanted to party. There were many I forgot to invite, mostly because I was doing a 1000 things at the same time. (Hey Marc, sorry buddy! Won’t happen again.) And there were others who surprised me. Like uber early stage investor, Ron Conway who joined in the festivities. [...]
