In the past few days: Dash, ParentsConnect, StudentFace, Fanspot (not to be confused with FanPop), Minti, something the former CEO of MySpace is doing and something that MTV is up to. At this rate - the notion fo distributed, inter-connected social networks might not seem to weird.

Looks like Yahoo is finally mashing it up. ‘Bout time.

We already allow you to publish your Linkedin profile to the web. Feel free to extend your feature request to exactly how you’d like RSS to be integrated. FOAF, as I mentioned to you at those conferences, as it stands doesn’t seem much more than a list of names and eMail addresses — and this we already allow individuals both to download and upload names/eMail addresses.
As for APIs, we are looking at how to design those. Suggestions welcome.

Christine Herron is calling for a summit on open data standards - and you don’t even have to be an insider freind of Tim to attend. Sometime in October st Stanford. Open Data seems to be a popular tag.

New blog from my buddy (and former client) Hooman Rafar - Widgify. He’s even started a wikipedia page on widgets. Though I could debate the semantics and say they’re really called ‘modules’ or ‘gadgets’ - as well. But who’s counting?

“$5M valuation - feh! I paid more than that for my 3 Eclipses” No - that’s not a Mark Pincus quote - but it could be. Great to hear they may be using some of the ideas we had - from what - three years ago. Go Bryan go!
