Hollaring back at Dare

Dare Obasanjo wants ot know if we’re interested in having Windows Live Spaces have open APIs.

He’s been watching what Facebook has been up to - and he’s the guy capable of opening up these APIs.  Oh BTW - there are 100M Live Spaces accounts - so this is significant.

Dare wants to know a usage sceanrio - so here goes:

Well first of all Dare - this is exactly what I asked Bill Gates for - back at Mix O6 in May.

We want them in the PeopleAggregator so folks who are members of more than one SNS can create a ‘mashup’ or meta-identity that encompsses all their on-line persona.

Finally we’d like to hook you folks up with AOL and Yahoo and have some REAL fun!

Dare has been noticing all the subtlties and issues we have with these Facebook APIs.  Hopefully all these issues and the return path calls - will all happen within the next month or two.

BTW on a similar note, Dare has an excellent post on BizDev2.0 - reacting to a post by Caterina Fake.  He points out that we need the equivalent of the Metaweblog API - for all these business relationships, web services, etc. to evolve easily - without all the web 1.0 friction required with glad handing and schmoozing.

I agree.
