Heather Gold show - July 21st 8 PM
I used to have this horrible crush on this wonderful woman named Heather Gold.
Now she’s a famous comedian. Come check out her show at the SF JCC (where my sons play basketball and my eldest son is a DJ.)
Theme: Self-made. How do you move from wanting something to make it happen? How do you stretch your comfort zone in any area of your life?
Guests: One of Time Magazines 100 most influential people, Caterina Fake is co-founder of Flickr the most popular photo-sharing site on the Internet (now owned by Yahoo); comedian W. Kamau Bell (Comedy Central, Dave Chappelle opener) and painter, activist, author (The Transcendent Child, The Man With The Beautiful Voice) and psychologist Dr. Lillian Rubin. Lillian is an internationally known lecturer and powerful woman who has re-created her own life many times.
One of today’s most promising comedic talents, Heather Gold performs freestyle comedy relevant to the day’s headlines, ideas and audiences. Endowed with incredibly quick wit and a big heart, she has an unusual ability to draw out guests and audience members to create an intimate environment. She’s written for Alan Cumming, performed with Tony-winner Bill Irwin and baked over 20,000 cookies with audiences in her smash hit debut “I Look Like an Egg but I Identify As A Cookie” which ran over a year in San Francisco and played off-off Broadway at Ars Nova. She’s created commentary for the pilot NPR/NY Times show, Circuits, and was twice honored with Curve Magazine’s National Lesbian Theatre Award. The Hub is a program of the Eugene and Elinor Friend Center for the Arts at the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco.
