Microcontent search

Tantek Celik of Technorati has announced a preview of their Microformats search capabilities.

They also have a pingerati service - so you can inform them of everytime a new chunk of microcontent is created.  I wonder if that ping service will be part of the feedmesh?

This all sounds Coolio.

Congrats to Tantek.  We at the StructuredBlogging initiative will embrace these new standards and support whatever new developments come out of the Technorati Kitchen.  Taking page tags (like microfomrtas) and connecting them to various forms of subscription and file formats - is imporant - so we’ll continue to do just that.

We’ll also continue to build plug-ins for Wordpress and Moveable Type (and others) and make all this code available in various language libraries.

Congrats again to Tantek.

UPDATE: Niall Kennedy groks it.

    Hi Marc,
No, Pingerati is not part of Feedmesh, because it is for web pages, not feeds. However, it will propagate microformat pings out to anyone who wants to receive them. If you have a service that would benefit from this, let us know and we’ll hook you up.
