Take me back to Manhatten

Sunday, April 16th, 2006

The view of these two birdges symbolically represents the two directions that end-users flow.
Some of them swarm in, as they are doing at MySpace - at the rate of 250,000 a day.  They sign-up, upload their faces and commence to ‘be friendly’.  They bring in value, attention, content and conversations.
The other bridge represents those same [...]

Can you smell that? I can smell it from here!

Sunday, April 16th, 2006

Gaurav is proud (and rightly so) of his team at Tekriti.  They hit their deadline and we’re now officially alpha testing the PeopleAggregator - our social network web service.
If everything goes to plan - round about mid-to-late May we’ll start inviting people in and in June we’ll get all those folks who joined the original PeopleAggregator [...]

Two dinners: Dublin (4/26) and Amsterdam (5/5)

Sunday, April 16th, 2006

In honor of James Joyce - we will be getting together in Dublin (my 1st trip there) the day before the Web 2.0Ireland seminar with folks like ‘the fixer’, Fergus Burns and maybe Bernie Goldbach.   So come one and come all - you Irish blogger nerd types.

Tagworld rocks

Saturday, April 15th, 2006

In preparation of releasing our social network web service, I’ve been going around checking out the other leading social networks.  My favorite new system is Tagworld.
Its got a great set of features and services, though it lacks Groups and integration.  But despite that - there’s something about its design that just seems right.

Beatles to run their own downloading servers

Thursday, April 13th, 2006

Inside story comes to me that the Beatles have refused to let Apple or anybody else have the rights to download their music off their servers.  Instead the music will come directly off of Apple Corp servers - so that they can keep track of each file sold.
They want to have the ‘ticker’ in their [...]

Wassup in the blogosphere today?

Thursday, April 13th, 2006

Yah wake up and it keeps going.  Will it ever ’stop’?
We had a great seder last night.  Mimi recanted the story of Baby Moses and freeing the Jews - as we had just seen the new production of the 10 Commandments on TV. Mary Hodder and friend came over. It was perfect. Lucy just went off [...]

Chag Semeach yah-all

Wednesday, April 12th, 2006

Its almost sunset which means it’s almost Pesach. Otehrwise known as Passover.
10 years ago I put up an on-line Hagadah.  The link is broken now. It turned out to be the first time anyone did that. I can’t find it on the Wayback machine - but trust me - we did it.  I guess I’ll [...]
