Morality and respect

Reading over Doc’s rap on Business and Morality - I’m reminded of how I approach business.

I’ll always give somebody a shot at trying to do something new or different.  I get approached all the time with new ideas, products or services.

When I meet someone new - I’m listening all the time - waiting to get some sort of clue or evidence of where they stand in the issues that matter to me the most.

Open standards.  Media.  APIs.  Microcontent.  The Living room. Family based social networking.

But one thing that underlies it all - is their approach to generosity and sharing.  Where do they stand when it comes to contorlling end-user’s data?  Allowing them to move between systems?

In Doc’s world:

  • Relationship
  • Conversation
  • Transaction

are the three ways that people interact.

I agree.

This is just ONE of the reasons why Doc is my guru.

I’m sure it will have quite a bit of appeal.

Yep, you do this well Marc. You don’t necessarily agree with my views on microformats but you tolerate them and support my right to advocate them… all while having a lot of fun. Keep up the great work! Joe
