Gillmore Gang April 7, 2006

I have to admit I usually don’t download podcasts.  In fact I’ve never downloaded a podcast ever before.

Why?

I’m supposed to be a media guy right?  Well I don’t own an iPod (and will never buy or accept ownership of an Apple product ever again) - and I just haven’t found the need to go and do all that….

….. until now.

Steve Gillmor was kind enough to mention me in regards to our ‘Unconference meme’ and Hugh’s retort (but not my retort back!)

Most of the podcast is podcasters debunking the hype of podcasting.  Then they get back to talking about ‘wave making’ versus ‘treading water’.

No worries Marc - you don’t need an ipod to listen to podcasts.

Just like JavaScript has very little to do with Java, Podcast has very little to do with iPods - more of a name assocation thing than anything else. I listen to podcasts via my cell phone, the Audiovox 5600 MS smartphone. I added a 1 gig miniSD card use the free Core Media Player.

    Marc:

Check out the Gillmor Gang called “NDA Gang” - they actually bring up a pretty close description of a DLA (without calling it that)

So when you are you gonna be on the gang?

Heck Marc, just download and listen to podcasts on that groovy little portable you have. Like Dylan says, no iPod required… Let’s just call ‘em audio posts.
