Integrating Infocards

Sunday, March 19th, 2006

Just in time for Mix06 - Microsoft has released their guide to how you can integrate Infocards within your on-line web services and browser based products.
This is key and crucial.
Those of us who want to be Homesites and Member sites can and should support Sxip - but some may want to just support Microsoft - [...]

Identity 2.0 and Sxip

Saturday, March 18th, 2006

Dick Hardt has put up his ‘Identity 2.0′ presentation from Etech.  It’s the same pitch he’s been giving, but it’s evolved - as they now have a 2.0 version of Sxip - which is decentralized and which can adopt to ANY authoritative source - which makes it even MORE powerful and open infrastructure-like.
Dick continues to blow [...]

Joga: soccer site for Americans

Saturday, March 18th, 2006

Somebody really needs to tell Nike and Google that it’s not called soccer - but football - everywhere in the world, but the U.S.
So that means that this site is just for Americans.

That seems really weird to me and says that this is not a real Google site, but one of those “20% playing around” [...]

Paolo has moved into new offices in his home town of Gorizia - on the Slovenian border.  The Count’s old castle looks over the town.

Newroo (Dan Gould) gets bought by Fox

Wednesday, March 15th, 2006

Just back from Austin - in time to catch/read this rumor/story that Dan Gould’s company - was the company that the Fox guy said he bought.
No wonder Dan has been all smiley and happy.
Congrats Dan (and partner Brian.)

Somebody just got hustled!

Monday, March 13th, 2006

Verisign has bought Kontiki.
They really should have asked any of us - first.
Kontiki’s claims of installed base and support - were just plain out lies.  Kontiki was a joke from the outset and represented yet another failure for Marc Andressen and Mike Homer.
So they’re coming out of that debacle - with cash.  I think they [...]

Heather Gold at SXSW

Monday, March 13th, 2006

My favorite lesbian comic - in fact comic in general - is doing two gigs here at SXSW.  I’ve known Heather - for a while now - and she’s been gradually building her cred, her following and is gonna bust out - one of these days.
So there are three incredible Heathers here:
- Heather Armstrong - otherwise [...]

Matisyahu

Saturday, March 11th, 2006

Guess who’s gigging tonight at Stubb’s?
Matisyahu - the Hasidic reggae star!
Stubb’s is the same place where he recorded his hot album.  This guy is great and he combines two key aspects of my life - Judaism and Reggae!
My panel ends at six and it sounds like I’m gonna have to go over there and stand [...]

The Community of BBQ

Saturday, March 11th, 2006

My father was one of the organizers of the meatpacker’s union back in the 40’s.
I was raised on south side of Chicago BBQ and as long as I remember - it has been the place in my mind where community has formed.  The central hearth of the neighborhood - where all come to eat, meet [...]

Technorati is NOT doing layoffs

Thursday, March 9th, 2006

Contrary to rumors - I just got it direct from the horse’s mouth Dave “the state of the blogosphere” Sifry that they are in fact NOT laying off at Technorati - but hiring.
So go take a look at their jobs page.
These vicious sort of rumors don’t help anybody.  I wish Technorati the best of times.  [...]
