Identity 2.0 and Sxip
Dick Hardt has put up his ‘Identity 2.0′ presentation from Etech. It’s the same pitch he’s been giving, but it’s evolved - as they now have a 2.0 version of Sxip - which is decentralized and which can adopt to ANY authoritative source - which makes it even MORE powerful and open infrastructure-like.
Dick continues to blow me away and is clearly our leader in this world of personal identity management. Whether it be for DLAs, Attention Trust, eCommerce, i-names registration, Microsoft world domination or Apple effete snobbery - Sxip networks can link all these disparate worlds together.
What really gets interesting is when Sxip connects us to Microsoft’s Infocards, Yahoo, Amazon, eBay, AOL and Google.
I just love Sxip and I can’t wait for it to be in ALL the projects we’re building. The GoingOn Networks will have it, our PeopleAggregator - what we’re doing with EMI and others. I’m also gonna presurre AOL as much as I can and throw MANY parties for MANY Yahoooooosters as I can - just to get them all to support Sxip.
Ning gets to be called Sxip adopter #1 - and I applaud and congradulate them on this achievement. Others are noticing as well. We’re gunning to be #2. Go Phil - go!
Dick gives a comprehensive view of the history, issues and features - which have led us to Identity 2.0. Sxip’s version 2.0 now can become our decentralized identity infrastructure. At no point in the data chain does Sxip insert any proprietary or closed elements. At no points in our mesh does Sxip dictate a single solution, single source or single point of control.
I sure hope that folks are starting to look at Sxip - and in WORST cases - make their own proprietary identity system compatible and interchangeable - with Sxip.
At all times in the Sxip architecture the end-user is IN CONTROL. iN CONTROL of the trust, of their data and what data or content is accessed - by whom. [[[NOTE: Dick just taught me the correct grammar for that statement - I would have said “‘by who”.]]]
Anyway - PLEASE go take a look at this presentation - and make sure that your identity system is compatible with this burgeoning open infreastructrure. We need it for our mesh. This video is sure to become a meme of importance.
